Advertising Profit Calculator
Estimate revenue left after product, fulfillment, transaction, and advertising costs for one campaign scope.
Use this for a currency result on an attributed campaign or order cohort. It is not the same as ROAS, which reports a revenue-to-ad-spend ratio.
What the result means
The result is revenue remaining after the listed campaign costs. A negative result is a loss before any fixed overhead or unallocated expenses.
The formula
Attributed revenue - cost of goods - shipping - fees - advertising spend
Results are displayed to at most two decimal places. Calculations use the unrounded inputs.
A worked example
Put the formula to work
- Attributed revenue (currency)
- 12,000
- Cost of goods (currency)
- 3,600
- Shipping and fulfillment (currency)
- 1,200
- Transaction fees (currency)
- 600
- Advertising spend (currency)
- 3,000
Advertising profit (input currency): 3,600.00
Campaign revenue of 12,000 less 8,400 in direct, delivery, fee, and ad costs leaves 3,600 advertising profit.
How to use this calculator
- Set one attribution scope and reporting period.
- Attach direct product and fulfillment costs to its sales.
- Add transaction fees and media spend once each.
- Subtract all listed costs and review negative results as losses.
Why this number matters
A campaign can show strong ROAS while losing money after fulfillment and goods costs; this view keeps those costs visible.
Input definitions
- Attributed revenue (currency)
- Revenue assigned to the campaign under one stated attribution rule and reporting period.
- Cost of goods (currency)
- Direct goods cost attached to the attributed sales.
- Shipping and fulfillment (currency)
- Delivery and fulfillment cost for the same sales scope.
- Transaction fees (currency)
- Payment, marketplace, and other transaction fees for these sales.
- Advertising spend (currency)
- Media spend for the campaign and period; do not include it in another cost field.
Assumptions and limitations
- Attributed revenue may not be incremental revenue.
- Shared overhead, payroll, and tax are excluded unless allocated into a listed cost.
- Returns and attribution changes can materially revise the result.
